    Memphis at Dawn

The day that just passed was a blessing. I was awakened by a customer at 4:53am. I arrived at his apartment in S. Memphis around 5:30am. He was outside when I arrived and we had some light gun talk joking about how he was clutching when he saw me pulling up and both talking about how crazy the city is. We were talking a lil bit more while I was working but just about his car etc. I finished the work around 6:30. As I’m about to leave we exchanged thank you’s  southern style “Preciate you bro” I was heading back to the car as he’s smoking his cigarette and then he said a quick prayer for me blessing me and blessing my day and wishing me abundance. Caught me off guard..totally unexpected. We weren’t talking about God or anything spiritual but that started the day on the right foot. I said “Hallelujah! I receive it. Preciate it.“Before I had even made it out of the apartments I got another call and calls kept coming to the point by 10am it already could have been considered a good day.

    Cold Water, MS

Then I had a job at an elder pastor’s house in Coldwater, Mississippi. I didn’t know he was a pastor yet though. I’m in a good mood from the day so far but it probably wasn’t visible on my face. I’m just keeping it business cordial and concentrating on what I’m doing because it was a little difficult but he’s standing next to me praying and talking about prayer and the Bible and the importance of prayer going back and forth inside reading the Bible and praying and he tells me he’s a pastor. This continues to where at one point he’s leading me in reciting Psalm 23:

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.”

Then when I’m finishing, he, his wife and I are saying goodbye, God bless and his wife tells me a few times to be careful in a motherly type way.

So I leave there heading back towards the Mississippi / Tennessee state line on the interstate meditating about what just happened and the day so far. Then the car 2 cars ahead of me slams on its breaks for some reason.  The truck in front of me in the far left lane has to slam on its brakes and swerve off the road, half way on the grass divider / slope / ditch to keep from wrecking. I have to slam on my breaks and swerve even wider down the slope into the ditch to avoid hitting either of them. So I make this big half circle down the slope leaning and climbing back up the slope at an angle and onto the road at highway speed. Nobody was hit or hurt and no damage was done. And of course I’m thinking about how this lady was just emphasizing for me to be careful.

The day continued to be busy and I ended up earning more from my labors in this 24-hour period than ever before. I didn’t ask anyone to pray for me or express any need or desire to them but these people just did it from the heart. I did the work but the timing was to a big degree out of my hands. People called at the right time so that the day went smoothly. I don’t fully understand everything about why this day happened the way it did but it seems manifest that other people praying for you is a force multiplier and I feel blessed and thankful. Now, I pray that I give that gift to others as well and remember to pray for more people in their hearing. God Bless
